There are so many times when we forget to wait for the Lord. Often we get an idea and rush to make sure we complete the task. My husband calls this “Ready! Fire! Aim!” Yet, God asks us to wait for the Lord. When Jesus was tempted by satan to change the stone into bread even when He was hungry, Jesus responded, “it is written, “man shall not live on bread alone.’” (Luke 4:4) Jesus knew God’s timing was different and didn’t fall into satan’s trap and obey the desires of His flesh. Jesus waited for God’s timing. When we wait for the Lord we have time to pray and to discern, “Is this what you want me to do, Lord?” Knowing God’s guidance, we can then move forward in courage.
