In 1978, I was in a Basic Catechist Course and during class we were told we must have God’s Word written on our hearts. This put a deep desire within me to study and know the written Word of God and have it written on my heart. So I began earnestly to read the Bible. Knowing God’s Word has put great joy into my heart. There are days when I am so filled with joy that I simply want to say, “The Lord has done great things for me, I’m filled with joy.” One day many years ago I was in the car driving from one errand to another and I began to consider God’s goodness to me. I began to sing; “The Lord has done great things for us,” not realizing it was verse 3 of Psalm 126. I began to sing, “And then my mouth was filled with laughter and my tongue with a joyful singing for the Lord has done great things,” not realizing that it was verse 2 of Psalm 126.

When I arrived home I sat down and wrote the song “Come Bless the Lord.” Later that day when I opened up the Scriptures during my prayer time I opened to Psalm 126. I realized then, God had written His Word on my heart! Recently, my husband and I celebrated our 30th Wedding Anniversary and song was used as the Psalm at the Mass. Since the vocalist and the accompaniment needed the written music, a friend took the song in tune and put it down in formal sheet music format. Having a deep love for music this was a major gift from God! He truly does great things for us
