Special Act of Sorrow

(By Salesian Missions)

Forgive me my sins, O Lord.  Forgive me my sins; the sins of my youth, the sins of my age, the sins of my soul, the sins of my body; my idle sins, my serious voluntary sins, the sins I know, the sins I have concealed so long, and which are now hidden from my memory. I am truly sorry for every sin, mortal and venial, for all the sins of my childhood up to the present hour.  I know my sins have wounded Thy tender Hear, O my Saviour, let me be freed from the bonds of evil through the most bitter passion of my Redeemer.  O my Jesus, forget and forgive what I have been.  Amen.

Morning Offering

(A Favorite Prayer of Rev. Msgr. Fred Florek)

Lord, all that I have and all that I do, I offer to you this day.  Thank you for this day and all that it contains.  Give me the courage of King David to stand strong and witness for the truth.  Help me to do my part in establishing Your kingdom here on earth and always to acknowledge that You are My Lord and Savior.

I ask this through Christ,

Our Lord.

Amen.

Prayer For Work

(By Babsie Bleasdell)

Lord, give me work; all work is thine.
Help me to make thy business mine.
Give me my part that I may share
Thy joy to make this life more fair.
My part and with my part the will
To make my life thy plan fulfill.
Thus everyday that I may see
The simplest task as done for thee.
Amen.

Renewal of the Sacraments of Baptism and Confirmation

(By Fr. Rusty Shaughnessy)

Jesus, I know that I am yours and you are mine forever.  I thank you for sending your Spirit to me that I might have the power to live this new life in you.  Stir up your Spirit in me.  Release your Spirit in me.  Fill me with the fullness of your Spirit that I might experience your presence and your power in my life, that I might find new meaning in the Scriptures, that I might find new meaning in the Sacraments and that I might find delight and comfort in prayer.

Jesus, release within all of us your Spirit.  We desire to love as you love especially the people you call us to share life with as well as the weak, the poor and the needy.  We desire to be peacemakers, to be reconcilers, to be able to forgive as you have forgiven us.  We desire to be your hands, your heart, your flesh, your Spirit, your Body the Church.

Release within all of us the gifts of your Spirit, so that our lives will reflect your goodness, your truth, your power.  So that together we may experience the peace, love, joy that you have promised us.

Fill us with your Spirit, Jesus.

We wish to receive all that you have to give us.

Anima Christi

(St. Augustine)

Soul of Christ, sanctify me; Body of Christ, save me; Blood of Christ, inebriate me; Water from the side of Christ, wash me; Passion of Christ, strengthen me; O good Jesus, hear me; within your wounds, hide me; let me never be separated from you; from the evil one, protect me; at the hour of my death, call me; and bid me come to you; that with your saints,

I may praise you forever and ever.

Amen.
