Introduction to Miracle Stories:
Clothed in Glory

“Now there is in Jerusalem by the sheep gate a pool, which is called in Hebrew, Bethesda.  In these lay a multitude of those who were sick, blind, lame and withered waiting for the waters to move; for an angel of the Lord went down at certain seasons into the pool, and stirred up the water; whoever, then first, after the stirring up of the water, stepped in was made well from whatever disease with which he was afflicted.”  And a certain man was there who had been thirty eight years in his sickness. When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he had already been a long time in that condition, He said to him, “Do you wish to get well?”  “Sir,” replied the sick man, “I have no one to put me into the pool when the water is disturbed; and while I am still on the way, someone else gets there before me.”

Jesus said, “Get up, pick up your sleeping mat and walk.”  The man was cured at once, and he picked up his mat and walked away.”  John 5:2-9

As I considered this scripture, a thought came to me that the Holy Spirit Gift of Faith is like the ‘stirring up’ of the waters at the Pool of Bethesda.  For when people hear what God has done in another’s life, then their faith is strengthened and ‘stirred up’ to believe that God truly hears us when we pray and great things happen, even miracles!

The following stories of amazing answers to prayer are meant to ‘stir up’ your faith and enable you to be willing to pray trusting that God hears you and answers you in wonderful and miraculous ways.  As you pray in God’s will, which we trust is good, we hope you will manifest the Holy Spirit Gift of Faith and see His miracle power at work in you and through you.  We hope you will pray with expectant faith and see God’s work in amazing ways.  After reading these stories of faith by the Women’s Christian Fellowship retreat leadership, we ask you to pray to the Holy Spirit to give you courage when you are called by God to pray for others or to receive prayer.
