“Do not model yourselves on the behavior of the world around you, but let your behavior change, modeled by your new mind.” Romans 12:2a
Before I met Jesus I was blind to all that Jesus had done for me and ignorant of the work He was calling me to do to fulfill His purpose for me. I was a portrait of hopelessness and constantly worried about what others thought of me.
My relationship with Jesus began when I received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit in 1979. Truly I was born again and became a new creation: God’s very own beloved whose hope is in Jesus, whose faith is in Jesus, and love is in Jesus. He has given me a joy that no one can take from me. Indeed, I was blind but now I see.
To fulfill God’s purpose in my life, I find that unless I know God’s Word, I can’t proclaim it. Unless I know His mercy and grace, I cannot show mercy and grace. Unless I know God’s comfort, I cannot be comfort to others, and unless I pray, I cannot pray with others.
My life now does not depend on what others think, but I live my life based on my love for Jesus Christ.
